“How Life Carries on Endlessly, Even after Death” is a search for evidence of life after death. By means of plants, Nathalie van der Straten-Folkersma examines the question of whether life after death exists, in an experimental way. For her dying is not an end, but a metamorphosis into new life.
When plants die, new life arises. A transformation is taking place from death to life. Nutrients are being moved away from the plants. Insects, microorganisms and bacteria feed on them. Fungal threads emerge. New connections and networks are formed, then spored produced. It finds its way and leaves remnants.
The end of one process is merging into another process. Depending on the action, it transforms into liquid, fungus, smoke or food.
